It's been almost a year and, Baby Boy, you crossed my mind today. Continued peace and strength to Coach and Mama Harper. I'll never forget the "lil brother" I used to drag around Milby H.S. and the young man who came into his own at Texas Southern. The one with the million dollar smile.

This is sad news, I met J-Harper on a flight from Texas to Atlanta in the summer of 2010, and we talk football the whole flight. He told me the he coached at Cedar Grove High and he was the O.C. there. I told him I coach D.L. over at Berkmar High. He seem like a great guy just from talking with him on the flight. I found out about this tragedy at a track meet last night at South Gwinnett when I heard some coaches talking about him, from what I heard you left your mark on some of the kids over at Ceder Grove High.....
RIP Harper!!!

It was so wonderful to have had the chacne to meet and be with Jarrett. He was placed in my care by his dad the moment he arrived at Lane College in 94. I had just transfered in and J-Harp was a true Freshman. His dad and I were Nupes and I knew J-Harp was next. During those grueling three-a-day practices, it was all we could do to survive practice. It was so loving to see J's smile come back after those practices...during practice no one smiled. But I's sad to see how this went down and I hurt for the family...Let go and God...no other way can this hurt and anger depart.

Harp! You will always have a special place in my heart. You left your signature mark in Georgia! I've enjoyed the numerous football games, basketball games, Dugan's outings, New Year Eve's parties and all the other fun times we shared. Your presence will definitely be missed and know that you are still loved by your Georgia family. My condolences to your family...until we meet again. Jarrett,
My sincere condolences are extended to the Harper family; I know how much you loved them and how close you were. We met in 2004 when I relocated to ATL from Rochester, NY. We began teaching in the same department at Meadowcreek High School in Gwinnett County. Our classrooms were right next door and we became good friends. We only worked together for a few months, but our friendship never stopped. I last heard your voice less than a week before you left us, and I am still numb about it. I will never forget all the memories, the laughs, and even some tears. You've touched so many kids' lives through your generosity and big heart. Students I haven't heard from since 2005 are coming out the wood works and hurting after hearing about you. You had such a powerful effect on them. Our favorite one told me you were more than a father to him. You know who I'm talking about...He misses you. The few of us left in the building who knew you find comfort in each other's presence by sharing stories about you and remembering how you kept us all laughing...I'll be looking for those dimples in Heaven!

Coach Harper, we met for the first time in the parking lot of Cedar Grove High School in Georgia three years ago on the night my daughter Jasmine Denton had an issue with her soccer coach and things were getting heated between he and I on how he handled things with my daugher and you came up and made it all better by basically taking our side and laughing as you did it, but pretending to take the coach's side just to get him to shut up and let us go without making matters worse. I knew at that moment that you were a hand full and that no matter what you had my children's back. You also coached my son Jordan Denton in JV Basketball at Cedar Grove and would fuss at him constantly for being hard headed on the court, well he was hard headed at home too, lol. You have always been the same since day one and my children (especially Jasmine) absolutely adored you. This has been a hard pill to swallow but God says things will be just fine. You left some great memories and we thank God for the time he allowed you to be in our lives. I will miss you calling me Ma Dukes and calling Jordan West Memphis only because we were from Memphis. We love you so much Coach Harper and I know you are up in Heaven charming some lady angels with that smile. You are the BESTEST!!!!

I met Jarrett at 24 hour fitness where he worked shortly before his death. I was deeply saddened tonight when I noticed his obituary diplayed at the counter at the gym. It was so hard to comprehend this loss. We met in the locker room one night when he asked how the supplements I was using was working for me. We talked for about 30 minutes. He had a gentle soul as the encouragement he had given me. Although we met once and only spoke once, I know that God put him in my path for that moment. Jarrett may God Bless Your soul!!!

I knew Jarrett for several years in Atlanta. May you find peace in knowing Jarrett touched so many lives & loved his family & kids he worked with deeply. He talked about you & them all the time to everyone. It was his passion to give. I pray you find peace in knowing he was a great man & did so much to impact the lives he touched, friendships he cherished, family he loved deeply, & life he lived fully. His presence let you know immediately he came from solid roots. He will be missed by us & gained by God. I can see him now running around in heaven getting everybody motivated for a bigger purpose than self. He was a champion in this life & we will all remember him as such.

To all who love Jarrett Warrick Harper know that he loved you back just as strong. To all who were blessed to be his friend know that if you were in his presence you were truly the only person that mattered and had all of his attention. If you ever needed his help he gave it no questions asked. Think about it...Jarrett was always there. You could count on him. He was an answer to a prayer on many occasions. He helped to ease a great deal of pain and sorrow while he was physically with us. A million dollar smile that could melt ice! He was my friend, someone who never judged me. What made him so special is that he listened, he always listened to me. My heart sincerely goes out to the Harper family. To the parents of Jarrett Warrick Harper you did an excellent job raising your son. You trained up your child in the way that he should go an when he became of age he did not depart from it. You taught him to love and because of that we became like brothers. I will see you again my friend, my brother. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Rejoice in the fact that GOD himself entrusted you with such a perfect and awesome gift. I love you all.
