Jerry Singletary passed away quietly at his home in The Woodlands on January 15, a victim of congestive heart failure. He was 80 years old.
Jerry graduated from South Park HS in Beaumont in 1951, and from Lamar University in the winter of 1956. He spent 42 years at manager level and above with titles ranging from Maintenance Manager and General Refinery Superintendent to President in the oil and gas processing business. Jerry and his wife were well known locally as avid swing and zydeco dancers specializing in the hustle.
Jerry Singletary is survived by his wife, Mary-Lynn ("Kitty") Singletary; the couple's three children and their spouses, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. This year would have marked the couple's 60th wedding anniversary. A memorial service for Jerry will be held in the chapel of The Woodlands United Methodist Church, on Saturday, February 1st at 1 PM.

My Dad was one of the first men I worked for. No job was ever beneath him. Even though he was a manager (or higher), if you needed help and he was around, he would roll up his sleeves and help. A Father and friend that will be sorely missed.
