I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Joe L. Albritton. I worked for him in the Home Delivery Dept. of The old Washington Star. What a wonderful leader and man. He gave us hope when no one else could. He said trust me and I will never let you down. He took our Newspaper from a loss of 1 millon dollars a month. To breaking even, I will always be proud that he was my Boss. And the World will miss a wonderful Smart man. God bless you Joe and thanks so much!!! John Paul Kirk

In March this year I found out my second
cousin Joe had passed away and was very sad.
The last time I saw Joe was at my Fathers (Halle Britton Havers)funeral in March 1979 and Joe offered some words of comfort. My grandmother(Laura E.Havers)
is the sister to Lewis A. Allbritton
and gave me my middle name Lewis after
him, born on his birthday April 26.Uncle
Lewis and Aunt Ada were very kind to me
and we was always celebrated birthdays at
their house.Dad would take us on weekends to the Allbritton's horse ranch to visit the cousin's and I got to
learn to ride horse's.This was in the 1960's
and I was very young having trouble remembering all the name except for Joe
and Sonny. In 1973 dad told me Joe was
moving to Washington and bought a newspaper business and did not no much
more about it.I recently got a computer
and what an amazing life Joe has lived. He
has been blessed with a beautiful family and I prayed for God to bring
comfort and his peace to them in there time of
sorrow.

Robert,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of your father. Please share my condolences with your mother. Your father was very kind to me each and every time I had the pleasure of his company. He was a brilliant American entrepreneur and his purchase of KATV was the best thing that every happened to us. I wish I had the opportunity to thank him for putting food on my table for all those years. I know how proud he must have been of you as well. My best. Thoughts and prayers.
