JOE CANALITO Obituary

JOE JOHN CANALITO, 89, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2009. Joe is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Marie Canalito, his three daughters, Sandra McCunis, Carolyn Reed, Peggy Roberts, son-in-law Gary Roberts and son Joe Canalito Jr. He leaves five grandchildren; Gary, Michelle, Michael, Krystal, Kevin and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Campo, brother Sammy Canalito and his spouse Faye and sister-in-law Pauline Canalito. Joe was a WWII veteran. He will be missed by his family and many close friends. Visitation will be at Earthman Funeral Directors at 8303 Katy Freeway on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:30 PM with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 13, 2009 at The Co-Cathedral of The Sacred Heart, 1111 St. Joseph Parkway. Interment to follow in the Garden of Gethsemani at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

I have fond memories of Joe in Sea Isle.He enjoyed our fish fries , crab boils and anythime we got together with alot of food. We always told great stories about the olden days. We will all miss him very much, and our thoughts and prayers are with you,

My dear Uncle Joe.
We will miss you ...thanks for helping my mom and dad get the piano that ended up being what your greatnephew Adam learned on...and now is a senior piano performance major. Thanks for your encouragement of him also...and for all the hugs, smiles and good advice. over the years..thank you Uncle Joe and may you rest in the arms of Christ.. (We did finally take your advice and get Adam a grand piano:)

I am so sorry for your loss, Mrs Canalito. I think I knew all of you years ago when you had a grocery store on Fulton Street. I baby sat with your children (some of them) when the girls were small. Both you and Mr. Canalito were such sweet people. Heaven has gained another angel.
