Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we are so sorry we could not be at the service on Saturday, as we were out of town. Joe was such a sweet man and will be greatly missed by all.

I had the pleasure to work with Joe and his family for the entire time since his kidney transplant both as a nurse caring for him while he was hospitalized and as one of the transplant coordinators helping to manage his care with the doctors over the years. Joe and Angie were the most loving, sweet, wonderful people you would ever meet and despite all of the set backs, particularly in the past year or so, they remained so positive and self-reliant and showed such strength in spirit. Their love and commitment to each other was so complete and so impressive that it has left an impression on me for all time. I hope that God will bless the entire family. He will be missed by the staff here at St. Luke's as he was loved by all whose hearts he touched.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Joe E. Ross, Jr. our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Joe. And to Joe it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country while serving in the U.S. Army. Joe, you will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,355 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Joe’s family and loved ones.
