I have many splendid memories, back in the '60's & '70's of us ridin' our Husqvarna off-road motorcycles.
Always tryin' so hard to keep up with him. John will be poppin' "wheelies" in the great beyond.

I will never forget my last memory of John- As sick as he was in his final weeks, and almost too weak to hold up his big old camera, but still taking pictures at his brothers (my father-in law)birthday celebration. I will always be inspired by the image of him in his wheelchair taking pictures that day. We should all learn from him to not waste a single precious moment and to do what we love while we can. RIP

My brother, John Lynn Bintliff, was a superman and he manifested such at a very early age, to wit: We grew up in the country (it was back then)in a two-story house at 1033 Wirt Road. Superman was BIG in our imaginations back then and John Lynn (age 6) went for it full-bore just like he did througout his life; he tied one of Mother's dish towels around his neck (his Superman cape), walked to the edge of the second floor deck, climbed over the railing and "flew." He landed head first in Mother's newly cultivated flower garden, sank up to his ears, pulled his head out, stood up and laughed.
He gave fully of his photographic genius and hugged others that he met with his kindness and compassion.
The world was a better place because John Lynn was here.
Thank you each a every one for your kind remembrances.

Uncle Lynn,
I remembered you when I was very young and your smile. You were inspiring that you lived through your passion throughout your life, taking pictures. I am honored one was given to me and my husband for our wedding and it hangs in our bedroom. I am grateful you captured family shots that we all treasure and I am most grateful of the photo of me and my little girl you took just months ago. I feel as though we will always have a little bit of you in your legacy. You will be missed.

Love to my cousins and my father.

John was a fixture at our household (Don Weitinger Family) in the 70's. He was so much fun....a true spirit of those times. He did a soul capturing family portrait of us, which stills hangs in Dad's house. All my best to the Bintliff family. Cherish the good memories.

I still have one of John's prints, I got it from him sometime in the 80's when I worked at the Hofbrau and he was a STAR! ....A true artist. The print has travelled with me across the country and has been a treasure to me. I am grateful to have known John and have a piece of his work.

When John packed in his studio and took off to be a REAL cowboy, they all thought he was crazy. But when they saw his work turn into works of art, he was an inspiration. If he hadn't had the guts to do that, I might never have packed up and moved to New York and then Los Angeles a couple of years later. A great talent and a great guy will be greatly missed.

Jeff,
May the pain of your loss be somewhat lessened as you are made aware by other "fellow strugglers" that you are important to them and that they hurt because you hurt. Please know that I am one of them.

We met when I was 6 and Lynn was 5 at River Oaks
Elementary School. We remained friends all along. I did not know his first name was John for years. So I continued to call him Lynn. We had great fun and interesting times together. I will always remember Lynn's great smile and infectious laugh I got a letter from Lynn about 2 months ago, wrote him back and then heard nothing---I knew something was wrong but I didn't know what. So John Lynn I will have to wait a little while to see you in Heaven. Even though we haven't seen much of each other lately I am missing you just the same. My love goes with you and keep an eye out for me. Don Weitinger Houston, Tx. Jeff and kids I am grieving with you

Just taking that fabulous photograph was his gift.
Making every hair count as he so aptly put it as he
got the moment of cattle, horses, wildlife in that intense second.
A legacy left behind in his many fabulous photos
will never be forgotten."Gotcha" is what he said as he
took the photo and you knew he really did!
