Dear Pete & Melanie,
There are no words I can write that will ease your pain. Please permit me to say, "I am sorry."
I am sorry I never met John, but knowing you both is as if I knew him.
From all that I have read, John, had to be special. Life takes strange turns. I remember back in the 50's going to Camp Thunderbird. John worked for young people to go there. I will remember John by helping send a camper there.
May John's memory be for a blessing. With love and respect for both of you and your family,
Stuart

My condolences go out to John's family and friends. May you find comfort at Isaiah 51:12 to know that God is the "One comforting you". By prayer he will give you strength and comfort you in this difficult time.

On behalf of everyone connected with the John Austin Cheley Foundation who's lives were enriched because of knowing John, or who were directly and indirectly impacted because of his dedicated work for our mission, I share a message of condolence, a message of love and a message of support to John's family and friends. Our community is better for having had John as a member and supporter and we are honored to have witnessed his compassion, his strength, his kindness and his wisdom. He was our leader and our friend and he will be missed terribly. We hope that John's family and friends achieve some comfort in the knowledge that he made the lives of the people he touched infinitely better.
