It is with a saddened heart that I learned of John's passing, today. John and I dated in high school when I was at Duchesne, and he was the kindest, funniest guy, ever! Many a time, he literally drug me across the course at Champions to follow the tours, and meet the visiting pros!!! But, John made those hot, long treks bearable and entertaining with his humorous golf facts and contagious laugh!

We lost touch when John came home from A&M, after my last date with him... when his dad called me and arranged for John and me to go to dinner and a movie. Thank you, Jackie, for that lasting memory and gift. John will always hold a very special place in my heart.

I'm saying prayers for John and your family, and sending my love and healing thoughts to all.

Dear Jack and family:
I was saddened this morning to see news of John's passing in the newspaper. My memories go way back to John as a child, growing up on Warrenton, a friend of my children. He handled the challenges he faced in life bravely, and I know appreciated the loving support he received from his family.

I pray you all are at peace, knowing that John is with the Lord and reunited with his mother, Ielene.

May God bless all of you,

John was one of my closest friends growing up; and he was a true friend until the end. Life was a bit of a struggle but he always made me feel special as we remembered those good 'ol days together. He will be missed and remembered as kind generous soul sharing his insight of the game with me. Mark

John J, you are the 1st of the 2nd generation of Burke cousins to leave us for heaven, where we know, there is no more pain or suffering;, just a reunion with Mom Ielene, Uncles Ed, Billy, and Jimmy and your Upstate New York family. We will miss you but rejoice that all that could be done on this earth was accomplished! Your sisters and brother willl get on with life without you, but as a kid myself when you were born, I remember you best as the one of the most handsome, talented cousins ever! May they alll Be birdies in heaven and when the eagle flies, letbus know somehow! Love you, cousin Robin!
