John Friend Webre

JOHN (JACK) FRIEND WEBRE, born September 29, 1916, in New Orleans, Louisiana died October 1, 2006. He graduated from St. Thomas High School and Rice University. Jack was a veteran of World War II serving with the Navy. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Lakeside Country Club. He is preceded in death by his son Thomas Edward, his brothers C.J., Lloyd, Clark, Malcolm Webre and his sisters Ethel Renn, Mathilde Chitwood, and Mary Anne Snelling. He is survived by his wife Rose, Sons: Johnny and wife Debbie, Chris and wife Lisa, Daughters: Cyncee, Ginger and husband Dick Hite, and Estelle Webre: twelve grand children and one great-grandchild; brother: Arnold Webre and sisters, Rosalind Fenner and Sylvia Wolford. Friends may call on the family Tuesday, October 3, 2006 from 5:30 pm 8:30 pm at the J.B. Earthman Tanglewood Chapel, 5740 San Felipe with a Vigil Service and Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 4 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road. Rite of Committal will be at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers you may send contributions to St. Thomas High School, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, or St. Mary's Seminary.
