Jose Contreras Obituary

JOSE CONTRERAS, born 8/15/1926 passed away 10/18/2008. Jose served in the U.S. Army as a medic during WWII. After serving his country he was a truck driver. He was a life long learner and always talking about current events. He enjoyed his family and many friends. The legacy he leaves behind is the respectable and caring family man he stood for. He was an honorable man whose presence will be sorely missed by the many people who loved and cared for him. He loved his nieces and nephews deeply and was very inspired by their high quality of education and positive direction. Preceeded in death by parents Jesus and Maria Contreras, his brother, Ascencion Contreras and sister, Herminia Cerda. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Rodriguez, Houston, TX. Angelita Tagle, Edinburg, TX, Tina and Catarino Cantu, Edinburg, TX. Brothers, Cresencio and Josefa Contreras, Yokum, TX and Crispin and Mary Contreras, Houston, TX. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 pm until 9pm at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery.

Jose 'Chepe' Contreras was our father's cousin & our second cousin.
I extend my condolences to his family, loved ones & friends
Chepe was always a good man, cheerful & kind.
I'll always remember him and have good memories of him
