Joseph Dyke Obituary

Joseph Laban Dyke, Known best as simply "Joe", Joseph Laban Dyke was born January 29th, 1947. He lived a long and family-oriented life until his passing, just short of his 65th birthday, on January 4th, 2012. Joe served his country in the Army in 1967, being honorably discharged in the year of 1969. As a Vietnam veteran, he will be receiving a traditional military burial, with a 21 gun salute and honor guard.
Joe was noted for his generosity and personability, having many close friends, and a memorable life with his family. Having a noted sensational sense of humor, he is remarked to have never met a stranger. With a heart the size of Texas, he was an avid fan of John Wayne, The Dallas Cowboys, and the University of Texas. He was a man of "true grit".
Joseph was survived by: His mother, Emma Lou Dyke, his sister, Donna Dyke-Bajaj and husband, his brother Michael Dyke, and a long legacy of close and distant family members.
Services will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home at 10710 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Houston, TX, 77038-8:15 to 9:30 AM.

Remembering Joe for his noble service to his country, bravery as he battled his health problems and devotion to his Mother and his family. Always, he would be helping and enjoying the many fun times of family gatherings at Adene and Jimmy's home. As "the neighbor"..Thanks for the many acts of kindness I received. You will be missed.
