Susan and Family ... My heart has been so heavy since learning of Chuck's passing. I worked with him for ten years at Administaff and couldn't have asked to be friends with a nicer man. He was gentle and sweet and nothing ever seemed to bother him. He was a great mentor and friend. I know he's in heaven with our Lord and someday we will all be with him again. God bless you and your family during this difficult time.

Susan and Family,
I lived in Texas for only five years. My fondest memories are of Chuck, for a few months driving to work with him to downtown Houston, listening to country western and Christian music. He was there to help me through some difficult times. I only wish I could have told him how much of a blessing he was to me. He was indeed a wonderful, kind, gracious man, and friend. Thanks Chuck for your friendship.

September 9, 2011

Dear Susan, I am so sorry, Chuck was a great man and has left a legacy of what it means to live your faith. I know he blessed our family, especially Phil. Many rides to work together. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Judy Vander Hamm

Dear Susan and family,

I am so saddened to hear of Chuck going to be with the Lord but at the same time so thankful that we can know that since he is absent from the body he "... is present with the Lord." (I Cor. 5:8) Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again we know that He will return and bring Chuck with Him, we will be reunited and forever be together with the Lord. (I Thess. 4:13-18) My thoughts and prayers are with you all as I remember all the kindness that Chuck showed me and my family in all his dealings with us. Jeff Lundy

I was a classmate of Carolyn's at Our Lady of Fatima in Galena Park and so i knew Chuck then. We reconnected on the jogging trails at Memorial Park years later. Many times we never got around to running because we talked about the Lord and all the wonderful promises He gave us for so long it would get dark. I only wish i would have known about his illness. I pray God's blessing over his family and i will never forget him.

Bob and I are so sorry for your loss. We have both felt a heavy weight on our shoulders since we heard the news about Chuck. We so enjoyed spending time with you and we will miss him very much. Chuck loved you so much and he often would talk about your life together. Susan, you are a very special person and we are so glad to be in your life.

I cannot express the emptiness I feel with the loss of my dear friend. Chuck and I spent many hours talking about our families and sharing stories of how our Lord Jesus Christ was working in our lives. I loved Chuck like a brother and I will miss his fun, spirited nature. My prayer is that he has found peace in the arms of our Savior and that one day we will meet again.

We love you Susan. God bless you and your family!

Yours In Christ,

Susan and family,

I can't tell you enough how much of an encouragement and inspiration Chuck was to the men of our class. He was so open about sharing his experiences and always had such deep and honest observations. His deep desire to know God was such an inspiration to be around.

I loved the pictures of Chuck helping the sons with their ties. What great images of fatherhood and what a great legacy he has left. You are such a blessed family. Chuck will be greatly missed by all of us.

I went to Furr and in the 10th grade, Mary was my best friend. My mother died and we moved and I have often thought of Mary and wondered how she was. I am so very sorry to hear of Chucks' death. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I think losing a brother would be closed to the same as losing a son. I lost my son in 2010 so I know that pain. May the love of our Lord carry you and your family through this difficult time. I learned of this on facebook thru Furrs' site.

Dear Susan, Joey, Katie, Luke and Austin, I am so sorry. Heartbroken. We - my family - Mom, Dad, Joel, Jenny..are heartbroken to hear of your husband & precious father's death. He will be remembered as Joel and I's amazingly kind and compassionate Sunday School teacher - the only one that would brave teaching Revelations to 3rd graders (which was only done bc we asked to study it & he actually listened to and took seriously & to heart what we as students really wanted to learn! I'll never forget that - it helped me tremendously - both on my spiritual journey and later as an adult leader); he will also be remembered as the best Awana Director ever and as life went on a kind an compassionate listenting ear and encourager. My life was made better because of your dad. I just want you to know that. Love to all of you. Again, I am heartbroken - a precious family member has been lost too soon. I am looking forward to all of us being made whole and anew someday as he is now. It is so hard down here. I pray that you will feel the Lord's presence in a very real way every day during this time and that he will lead you one day/one step at a time. I pray that He will hold all of you. Shanyn
