Joseph Robert Pulaski
10/12/1936 - 04/23/2025
Joseph Robert Pulaski, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Houston, Texas.
He was born on October 12, 1936, in Houston to the late Ruth and Edward Pulaski. Joseph was known for his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit.
Joseph devoted much of his time to helping others. He volunteered at his synagogue preparing meals for those in need and participated in the elementary reading program at the Houston Independent School District (HISD). He was also proud to be the very first Bar Mitzvah at Temple Emanu El.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity, and went on to receive his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. While in law school, he was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Honorary Law Fraternity.
Professionally, Joseph had a long and distinguished legal career. He began as a partner at Foreman Dyess in Houston and later established a firm with his close friend Gordon Zuber. This firm eventually merged to become Weycer, Kaplan, Pulaski & Zuber in 1985. He practiced law for over 50 years before retiring in 2014.
Joseph met the love of his life, Linda Jacobson, on a blind date. They were married for over 61 years.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. Pulaski and Ruth Pulaski Lack. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda J. Pulaski; sons, Brian Pulaski, and wife, Katie, Michael Pulaski, and Alan Pulaski and wife, Alana; and grandchildren, Jordan, Ellie, Sam, Josie, Jules, and Sybil Pulaski. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard, and wife, Joy, and Barry and wife Rebecca Pulaski, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
A private graveside burial service will be held at Emanu El Cemetery. A public memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in the Chapel at Temple Emanu El, located at 1500 Sunset Boulevard, Houston, Texas,77005.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Houston Area Parkinson Society (HAPS), 2700 Southwest Freeway, Suite 300, Houston, TX 77098, Temple Emanu El, or a charity of your choice.

On behalf of Pi Lambda Phi, please accept our sincere condolences on Joseph´s passing. Hopefully, everyone who loves him will be able to be together to celebrate his life and share fond memories of him.

I've updated our records so that we will remember Joseph again when our fraternity convenes for our annual gathering this summer in what we call our "Chapter Eternal Remembrance Ceremony." The names of brothers who have passed are read, candles are lit in their memory, somber fraternal prayers are recited, and beautiful songs are sung. It's our way of noting that although they are no longer with us in body, they are remembered.

Brother Mine Forever,

P.S. The included Coat of Arms with the middle band blacked out honors Joseph´s transition to the Chapter Eternal.

May his memory be for a blessing. Sending love to Linda and all of the family. One of my favorite memories will always be running into them at Naples on Broadway after just telling my husband's aunt how he took legal cases in San Antonio so he could come eat at Naples! I will miss my cousin's wit and charm.
