Services for Joyce Ashley will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Hilliard Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home starting at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Jamestown Cemetery.
Joyce Ann Lunceford Ashley was born November 2, 1938 in Van, Texas and passed away at the age of 77 on March 23, 2016 in Waco. She had been a resident of Wesley Woods Alzheimer's Care Center for 10 years, formerly lived in Groves, Huffman and Houston. She loved crafts, and enjoyed crocheting for her family. Joyce is a graduate of Port Neches – Groves High School, class of 1957. After a number of years as an administrative assistant at Galena Park Independent School District, she retired from Brown and Root following 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jackie Ashley; second husband, William Stewart; parents, Garland Grady Lunceford and Velma Sledge Lunceford; three brothers, Charles Lunceford, Doug Lunceford and David Lunceford; and her twin sister, Rose Patterson.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Mary Ashley of Waco and Robert & Claire Ashley of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Angus & Sandra Lunceford of Groves area; four grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Becky and Grady; ten great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other close relatives and friends.
