Joyce Wylie Obituary
02/19/1921 - 09/04/2022
JOYCE ROWELL WYLIE, 101, passed into heaven on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Joyce was the child of Roy and Christine Rowell and was preceded in death by her husband, Earl,
her parents and her sister, Shirley Heinze. She was a graduate of Rice University and was a member of South Main Baptist Church and had been a longtime volunteer at Memorial Herman Hospital.
She is survived by her children William E. Wylie, Joan Wolfinger (David) and Dr. Roy Wylie; her grandchildren, Laura Hickerson (Kevin), Dr. Mark Wylie (Kristen), Jennifer Turner and Melissa Meyer (Tom); and seven great-grandchildren.
As she requested the family gathered privately at a graveside service on Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Henderson, TX to inter her next to her beloved husband, Earl.
If a memorial gift is desired, the family would suggest consideration be given to The Joyce and Earl Wylie Track Scholarship Fund at Rice University, Office of Development MS81, PO Box 1892, Houston, TX 77251 (or giving.rice.edu) or to the Joyce Wylie Memorial Fund,
South Main Baptist Church, 4100 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002.
