Dr. Kathryn Ann Hale passed away on January 1, 2026. A memorial will be held in her honor on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:30. Lunch will be served by Churrasco's. Please email [email protected] for the address and to RSVP.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Dorothy Hale, and her sister, Becky Nettleton. She is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Mary Hale and David Hogue, and sister Trish Hale Inselmann, nieces, nephew, and many colleagues and dear friends.
Her legacy lives on in the countless patients she healed and the students she mentored. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kay's honor to the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory at gcbo.org or to Baylor College of Medicine at

Jack and I have many wonderful memories of birding with Kay. She was a great asset to the community of bird and habitat lovers. That, in combination with her contributions as a doctor, earn my deep admiration. We will miss her sweet spirit and quiet humor.
