Born April 3, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Lester Ray Marshall Jr. and Marion H. Marshall, Lester Ray Marshall passed away on October 24 2025, in Houston, Texas.
Ray spent his formative years in Roswell, New Mexico, attending North Junior High School and graduating from Roswell High School in 1962. He earned his degree from New Mexico State University in 1967. Upon graduation, Ray began a 30-year career with Shell Oil Company before retiring to Houston, Texas.
Predeceasing Ray were his parents, Lester and Marion Marshall; his sister, Barbara White; his son, Christopher Marshall; and his daughter, Dawn Marie Marshall-Montenegro.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Yajaira Medina-Marshall; his grandson, Kai Montenegro; and his grandchildren, Ariana and Samuel Espana, along with their parents, Drs. Kathryn and Jonathan Espana.
Per Ray's wishes, he will be cremated with no burial or formal funeral services. His family asks that he be remembered for his kindness, his love of family, and his deep faith.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
