Dad,

It's still hard for me to believe that you are gone, but I take comfort in knowing I will see you again one day. Perhaps the best advice I have received is to carry you with me and to keep you in my present. So that's what I'm going to do..."I carry you with me into the world, into the smell of rain & the words that dance between people & for me, it will always be this way, walking in the light, remembering being alive together". I love you.

To the Blount Family,

My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with you all at such a shocking and sad time. I just heard of Dr. Blounts' passing today and I was so saddened to hear of it. Dr. Blount was such an awesome doctor and friend. I just spoke with him very recently when he came to turn in his keys to me upon separating from ECRH. We had a very lovely conversation about "cricket crap" actually, (LOL) as crass as that may sound; oh how he made me laugh that day like so many before that. He was definitely a character in every raw and wonderful sense of the word and he will be missed dearly by myself and so very many others.

My sincerest condolences. Peace be with you.

Love in Christ,

Dr Nicky Shuman

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Blount at CMHC/Serenity BHS. I learned much working with him because his knowledge spilled over to others. He was easy to talk to and his sense of humor made me look forward to coming to work. I shall miss him.

I first met Dr. Blount when he was on the CAAP Unit at ECRH/Augusta. I always spoke to Dr. Blount when he was in the chart room on the Adult MH Unit at ECRH/Augusta during the last many months. He would always have a smile no matter how things were going on the unit. When he was at Serenity BHS, he would call me from the MHC and ask for summaries and I always got the info to him. He was always pleasant and nice to me. I transcribed his discharge summaries. I will miss hearing his voice on the dictation system. With sincere sympathy to the family. May God comfort you today and always.

Dear Carole, I just learned from Peggy about Lindy's death, and I am so saddened about the loss you are experiencing. Please know that I am with you in spirit as I didn't learn about this great tragedy in time to attend. I have so many memories of the times we all shared at Grandmother and Granddaddy's farm, and it is such a shame that time moves on and takes us away from each other, too often in unexpected and sad ways. I wish I could do more to ease your suffering than to say words that express my feelings. And to add my love.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Dr Blount's passing. I had enjoyed working with, and for, him over the years at Georgia Regional. He had a warm and wonderful way of relating to both his patients and his staff, and he will be sorely missed by those of us lucky enough to have known him.

I hope that his family can take some degree of comfort in the knowledge that Dr Blount did so much good for so many others in his all-too-short time here on earth.
