Dear Dad and Big Lonnie this is the poem we read to you at your funeral we hoped you like it. We love you very much.

In Our Hearts

We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.

I remember when you used to call me fraggle rock because of how I wore my hair. You was like a father figure to me and you didn't mind me calling you dad. We use to sit in the living room and joke around talking about each other. When we had birthday parties me and Ladeja use to be your little bartenders. I remember when we use to massage your back and feet. I will truely miss you and I Love you.

Well,well,well, what can I say, Just 2 weeks ago we were talking and you were telling me how bad my little baby was. I'm finally understanding that you are gone but it is still soooo hard. It's especially hard because you were such a good person that loved your entire family and would give your last to whomever needed it. We have shared so many laughs and I will miss that soooo much. But I know that you are still close in spirit and I will lean on that. You were such an inspiration to so many people and for that God needed his angel for a special assignment. I already know what you are saying, Moon-Moon stop crying and keep your head up, continue to uplift Mary-you know that's your girl and believe me I will. I will keep that promise to you and keep them under my wing, Especially the kids, just as you did for me. My bad little baby misses you so much and can't stop asking for you. So does Curtiana, but I"ve explained to them that your days of pain is over and you wouldn't have it any other way. I Love You and I Miss You so Much!!!!
Love Always,
Your Moon-Moon

To the Nickerson Family,

Our prayers and deepest sympathy go out to the entire family. Coach Lonnie was a good guy and a great football coach. Lil Rod and A.J. always received great advise from Coach Lonnie when going through trials they went through growing up to be young men. Lil Rod was not able to say goodbye but Coach Lonnie smile will be greatly missed. Mary and children, Lonnie was a wonderful person. God Bless You'll !

To the Nickerson Family,

I knew Lonnie for years. We knew a lot of the same people going back to our Hobby days. What I admired most about him was he carried himself in a postive manner every time I saw him. Consistency speaks volume about our character! He was respected by many. He will be greatly missed.

Mary & Family,

This is a prayer that I say when times are tough for me and it helps, I hope that it will help you in your time of sorrow and I hope it will comfort you.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Bless you
Love always your sister in heart

I've known you and your family for over 5 years, and I would like to say that I wish I could have meet a man so caring and funny as Lonnie, in my life. You and the kids have been truly blessed. I wish that I could be there for you and your family. From the parties and sports activities, I have seen Lonnie as such a very funny guy, who would always let you know that everything would be okay. But please know that my family and I will always be there, and will always keep you and your family in our prayers. We love you. May God bless and keep you and your family.
