Louise Krenek Obituary

LOUISE HERTER KRENEK, 88, passed away very peacefully Sunday evening January 4. She was born on March 14, 1920 in Lexington, Texas. Like many young people of her generation, she moved from the farm to Houston in the early 1940's looking for work. She enjoyed a long successful career with Universal Carloading and Distributing Company, also serving as a railroad union representative. Louise was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 60 years and also served as a member of the Lutheran High School Ladies Guild. After retiring, she spent many happy hours gardening as well as playing dominoes and "42" with friends and family. She enjoyed being a member of the Texas German Society, the South Belt Chapter. An avid Houston Astros baseball fan, she attended many Astros home games. Louise was also a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was one of those rare women of the `50's and `60's, a successful working mom. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Rudy P. Krenek. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Krenek Mendoza of Sugar Land; brother, Adolf Herter of Lexington, Texas; granddaughter, Cindy Mendoza of Houston; grandson, Daniel Mendoza and wife, Terry, of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Gabriel, Mariah, Alexis and Kim; as well as loving nieces, nephews and several dear cousins. Visitation will be on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 10am to 12pm in the Family Chapel at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with the funeral service to begin at 12pm and interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

To the Krenek Family,
I ,and my mother, had the distinct priviledge to know Ms. Krenek as her pharmacist years ago. She was one of the most thoughtful persons we have known. She would visit my location from time to time just to say hello. She was truly a godsend. May God comfort you during your time of sorrow. I know God has a special place in Heaven for such a special person.

Dear Elaine,
I enjoyed reading about your mother. She was a wonderful lady and I remember her well from our days at Lutheran High. God is good! I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Elaine and all your family, your mom will be missed. The write up in the paper was beautiful and gave a wonderful insight into who your mom was and how much she touched those around her.
Love,
Celeste and Jack Giles

TO the family of Louise:
I will miss her very deeply. She always kept us (Leutz family) informed how everyone was doing in her family and those in Lexington. Daddy and her had good times in their younger days in Lexingoton. She always remember everyone birthday and was usually the first to wish you Happy Birthday.
She also was the historian of the Krenek, Leutz and Aunt Agnes' family.
Our love and prayers are with you all during this time.
Love always,
Shirley Leutz, Linda (Leutz) Windsor and Sharon (Leutz) Dukes.
