Luis Brizuela Obituary

Luis A. Brizuela was born in Santa Clara, Cuba on November 2, 1942, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 3, 2013. The son of Enrique Brizuela Bosch and Luisa Rodriguez Guinot, he is immediately survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Irene Beatrice Olivares Brizuela, his only child Luis Enrique Brizuela, his grandchildren Mia and Alexander Brizuela and his loving niece Luisa Maria Brizuela. In addition he is also survived by his Brother In-Law Armondo Olivares, Sister In-Law Norma Jean Espinosa, and Brother In-Law Ramiro Espinosa along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
After arriving to Houston in the early 60's from Havana with nothing more than a suitcase and a limited comprehension of the English language, Luis started his pursuit of the American Dream. Once enrolling at the University of Houston and majoring in Industrial Psychology, he embarked on his lifetime career in the steel industry with Armco on Broadway in Southeast Houston. From sweeping the floors in the warehouse and working his way up to becoming the Executive Vice President of International Sales, Luis's career took him from Houston to Central Florida, to Chicago and finally back home to Houston in the mid 90's. Luis exemplified the upmost professionalism throughout and was both admired and respected by many across the globe.
He was an avid historian, a firm believer in the democratic process, lover of music and a devout Houston sports fan dating back to when the football team was the Oilers and the Rockets played at the Summit.
Luis did everything within in power to make those around him feel loved, wanted and cared for. He will be remembered for his graciousness, style, quick humor, infallible courage and consistent devotion to his family and friends. Wake and Funeral proceedings will take place on the morning of Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Malloy and Sons Funeral Home on Broadway in Galveston, Texas. Call (409)763-2475 for further details. 3028 Broadway Street, Galveston, TX 77550.
