Martin Heard Obituary

MARTIN L. "BUD" HEARD, JR. passed away on June 17, 2002 at the age of 87. He was born on October 6, 1914 in El Campo, Texas to Martin & Betty Heard. Mr. Heard was a 50-year life member of the United Association of Pipefitters & Plumbers Local Union #211. After many years of dedicated service as a pipefitter, Bud retired in 1977. Mr. Heard was also involved with the Channelview Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Lodie Oneida Kilburn Heard; brother, Percy Heard; sister, Madylon Blair. Mr. Heard is survived his daughter, Jane Dobson & husband Jerry; son, Harold Heard & wife Susan; daughter, Linda Fruendt & husband Roger; grandchildren, Dena Craig, Sunny, John, Kara, Marti, Beth & Anne; great- grandchildren, Jordan, Jackson, Megan & Ryan; sister, Wilhelmina Chesser; sister-in-law, Louise Heard; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:0 p.m. at San Jacinto Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Old River Terrace United Methodist Church, 16102 East Freeway, Channelview, Texas 77530. Rev. Steve Woody will officiate. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Channelview Fire Department providing a Ceremonial Honor Guard.
