Mary Keefe Obituary

MARY KEEFE Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."(John 14:6) Mary would like you to know that Jesus lives and she is now seeing Him with her own eyes. Mary, age 56, passed peacefully from her home in Houston, Texas on February 21, 2009 from complications due to cancer. She is predeceased by her mother Mary Frances Dickey Whitfield. Born November 1952 in Washington State she grew up and spent the first part of her life in Waverly, Ohio. She graduated with a BA and MA in education from Morehead State University, Morehead, Kentucky and taught elementary education in Spring Branch ISD (Houston), Waverly, Ohio and Louisa, Kentucky. Survivors include her husband of 32 years- Brian Keefe, Sr., and children Christy Keefe of College Station, Texas, Brian Keefe, Jr. of Dallas, Texas and Kyle Keefe of Houston. Mary's dad Cyrus Whitfield survives and resides with her brother Joe Whitfield and wife Kathy of Idaho and nephews Daniel and Jonathan and niece Elisabeth. Survivors also include Mary's sister Laura Whitfield of Florida and her brother William Whitfield and wife Jodi of Ohio. Mary was happiest when doing for and being with her children and husband and other family members. Some of her favorite times include having a family picnic at Bear Creek Park, hiking the trails at Scioto Trails Park, walking along a beach and hiking the mountains of Colorado. Mary's family would like to praise God for his love and care during this difficult time and thank all the family and friends who sent love, cards, calls, prayers, and hope to us. The family invites friends to a visitation on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 from five o'clock until eight in the evening at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065. Brian, Brian, Kristy & Kyle:
Mary was a wonderful, sweet lady. I always enjoyed sitting with her at football games and track meets when Brian and Loren were in high school. She would light up when she talked about her children.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Brian, Little Brian, Kristy and Kyle: We will miss Mary and want you to know she was a very special friend and neighbor to our family for the last 18 years. On the day Mary went to be with the Lord the reading from Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado (Mary has this book) says, There are many rooms in my Father's house;...I am going there to prepare a place for you John 14:2 and also No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9. You all know we are just right next door if you need anything . The Whiteley Family
