This is the 'Old Dude" thinking about you on this 'Veterans Day' Hope you and the other Troops arn't to busy working your Angel duty?
I want you to look-down, and in on your Gram Myers. She's in a combat with her health. She fighting cancer and we both know she's a 'Tough Cookie' but she's going to need you and your right-hand Man to give her physical strenght.
I visited her yesterday in the hospital and she put on a happy smile. You know your Grandma she not going to let anyone see her down in the dumps.
Thanks for being here so I can talk to you buddy. Got to go, I'm off to the eye doctor.

Hey Matt,
Its hard to believe it has been almost two years.. And to me you have shown me a sign every year around this time.. Today I am at work wich i started last year on the day you passed and i decided to find this site because i wanted to see your picture (not like i dont have many at home). Jus recently as i know you know i found out i was pregnant. Yesterday i asked your mom if it was ok that if i had a boy if i could use your first name as his middle name. And of course knowing your mother she said yes. I havent seen your family in quite sometimes cause it is still hard to deal with. And sometimes i will drive out to sit infront of your old hanger and jus stare. Well back to what i was going to tell you. I jus found out i am pregnant(which i know has something to do with you in some way) and as i was reading this site i realized that i find out the sex of the baby on the 22nd of april the same day that your family held your funeral. Through out this whole pregnancy i have been thinking i am having a girl, but for some reason i know feel the is a bigger chance its a boy.
I miss you greatly Matt and i love you dearly. I jus wanted to share that news with you, I know its a bit weird but i wanted to.
I love you and think about you every day. I know you are with me at all times.

'OUTLAW 84' and Family,
I'm one of Matt's online friend can't say for sure when I met him but I e-mailed him many times when he was on a deployment. Matt was a friendly guy with a very good since of humor, we often shared jokes online. There was often times that Matt couldn't get to the Internet so I wouldn't hear from him in months. I only know Matt by his 'OUTLAW 84' call sign for sometime, as time passed we shared first names.
I'm a old Army Veteran and at one time I was stationed a Fort Hood, Texas. I teased Matt about how much harder the old Army was compared to the new Army. Matt would tease right back and often came out on the top with my teasing. We both shared the love of America and the United States Flag. He would send me pictures of his Black hawk helicopter and the tattoo of the on his upper arm. Most everything he sent me had a flag on it even his beloved tattoo.
When Matt returned to the states after his deployment we lost contact, and this isn't uncommon with some of the other guys I support.
It wasn't until I got in touch with a class mate from high school that I leaned that 'OUTLAW 84' was called to heaven. Matt's Grandmother is my class mate and a friend from high school. (Small world with a big Cyberspace)
I'm sure that our beloved Matt is now in one of the top ranking solders in God's Garden.

I used to talk/write back and forth with Matt during the beginning of his ventures with the Army. I just went through a bunch of old letters and I searched for him on the internet and was in shock after learning he passed away. He was a great guy and a wonderful soldier. I am sorry it took this long for me to find out of his passing. My prayers are forever with him and his family.

Matt was such a special nephew. I'll never forget the birthday I took him shopping and he was so excited because I let him pick out two presents. (One was a t-shirt of Michigan's roadkill which he just loved.) He will be missed so dearly by everyone.
