May Mikesell Obituary

May Ellen Phillips Mikesell
June 5, 1928
September 25, 2012
May Ellen Phillips Mikesell died Tuesday at 84 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Phillips and Hewitt Phillips, and her husband of 59 years K.L. "Mike" Mikesell. Survived by her sister Iris Payne of Arlington Texas; children Sandra Hatton, Scott Mikesell, Linda Taylor and her son in laws Gene Taylor and Mike Hatton. Ellen had five grandchildren: Mark Henson, Matt Henson, Lauren G. Taylor, Austin Taylor & fiancee Destini Palaile, Dustin Taylor; as well as three great grand children, Brock, Alexa, and Grady.
Ellen always had a great sense of humor, even in the most challenging times, and loved bridge and cooking. The consummate Southern Bell, she will be most remembered sitting on her porch next to the family dog Chief, where she held "court" and listened lovingly to neighbors, friends and family.
Our family looks forward to your presence for the celebration of her life at 2pm Saturday September 29, at Forest Park Cemetery 12800 Westheimer Rd, 77077. Celebration continues following services at the family home. Donations can be made to Memorial Assistance Ministries in her name, 1625 BlalockRd, 77080. Many thanks to Rose of Texas Hospice, and Dr. Tom Salek.
