At age 75, after many years valiantly struggling with multiple health issues, Mike found peace on April 13, 2021. He survived for almost 20 years following a double transplant brought about by diabetes. Although his mobility and vision were severely restricted, he never complained and remained fiercely independent to the very end. Mike was born in Modesto, CA but grew up in Houston where he attended Poe Elementary, Lanier, Lamar HS and the Univ. of Houston. He retired from Enron in 2001 but stayed in contact with his office buddies over the years. He was a loyal friend who respected shared confidences and cherished his relationships with friends and neighbors. We are most grateful to have had this kind and generous soul in our lives. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, William & Willie Ely Erwin, his parents, T. D. Moore & Myra Thomas, and nephew Gray Marsh. He is survived by daughter Michele (husband Bill); son Jeff (wife Tammy); five grandchildren, Cassie and Alex, Brooke, Jayden and Caelan; sisters Marilyn (husband John), Myra (husband Gerald), niece Paige and nephews David, Paul and James; plus several great nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service will be held in Hearne, TX. A tribute to Mike has been posted on Miller Funeral Home website.
