Mike Trotter Obituary

James Michael Trotter
1934-2021
Join us in celebrating the life of James Michael Trotter, Sr., who passed peacefully on April 6, 2021. Born to J.R. and Bernice Worley Trotter in Shreveport, Mike graduated from Byrd High and went on to Texas A&M University. Mike was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and graduated as a geological engineer in 1955. Following graduation, he served out his US Army commission at Fort Knox, as a 1st Lieutenant and Tank Commander in the Second Armored Cavalry Division. Mike began his career as a petroleum engineer with Placid Oil in Houma Louisiana, where he met his future wife Barbara Andruss. Following his time at Placid, and Union Oil of California, Mike went on to join Quintana Petroleum Corp. where he worked with distinction for the remainder of his career. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Barbara, and made many trips over the years with the Traveling Aggies. He acted as the class agent for the Texas A&M University Class of '55 and was a President of the Sul Ross Group. Mike was a longtime season ticket holder at Kyle Field, where he supported his beloved Texas Aggies. Mike will be fondly remembered by friends and family for his wit, humor, and endless anecdotes. He was an avid reader and lifelong student of history. Mike is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter Laura, son Michael, and granddaughter Kaitlyn. A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana, TX.
In memory of Mike, those who wish to donate are encouraged to support the TAMU Foundation or the charity of your choice.
