02/04/1935 - 05/28/2025
Nancy Katherine Moore Gehman peacefully passed May 28, 2025 in Santa Fe, NM with her immediate family present. Her Memorial Service is 11 AM Saturday, June 28th at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Santa Fe. (See website for Web Cast.)
Nancy is predeceased by her parents, Harwood and Lauretta Moore, her brother, Fred Moore, and her husband, Harry Merrill Gehman.
Nancy was accepted to Radcliffe, but chose to attend Cornell, meeting her future husband. Nancy ran Tom Bass' successful campaign for Commissioner, Harris County Precinct 1 and became Texas' first female General Superintendent for Roads & Parks, developing 1400 acres of parks and the Braes Bayou Hike & Bike Trails.
Nancy moved to New Mexico in 1984 and established Triple A Alarms' Santa Fe office. She was civically and politically active, volunteering for New Mexico's Court Appointed Special Advocates for Foster Children. She also hand wrote thousands of Get-Out-The-Vote postcards for recent national elections. In 2017 the Santa Fe New Mexican named her one of the city's Ten Most Influential Women.
She is survived by her children: Scott (Valorie) Gehman, Tracy Gehman, Lisa (Matt) Thorne, grandchildren Maxwell Gehman, Nicholas Gehman, Joseph (Samantha) Gehman, Dila Thorne, Fria Thorne and nephews Tom Moore, Tim Moore, and W. H. (Bill) Moore.

I'm saddened to hear about Nancy's passing. I worked with Nancy at American Burglar and Fire Alarm Co. in mid 1980's. Nancy was filled with beautiful words towards everyone, and full of love and laughter. Nancy and I were great friends, she was very special to me. My condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. I will always remember her beautiful smile. We lost a great lady. David V. Martinez

Nancy used to live on my street in Eldorado and we often met on walks. After she
moved we saw each other once a year at the state capitol for NAACP day. Her heart was in the right place - full of compassion and love.
