Norman Bond Obituary

Norman Bond
05/11/1944 - 10/18/2022
Norman Bond, 78, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Born May 11, 1944, in Houston, Texas to Ray and Eunice Bond. Norman is survived by his loving wife, Wanda of 57 years and sister, Raynell and husband Bill Bowley. He leaves behind two sons, Clif and wife Kandy, and Kevin and wife Karen. He was a devoted grandfather to Kayla, Kaitlyn, Cade, and Kacie.
Norman attended Texas A&M University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1966 in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation he began his career and became a professional engineer in 1971. In 1974 he earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of Houston. Norman led several successful companies before his well-deserved retirement.
Norman was an Aggie through and through. He served two years in the Texas A & M Corps of Cadets. He was a member of Air Force Squadron Thunderbird 10 with lifelong friends, Dick, Larry J., Mel, and Larry M. He was named Outstanding Freshman. Later he made sure his children and grandchildren understood the history of Texas A&M and what it meant to be an Aggie.
Norm was a dedicated father and grandfather. He served as a coach to his son's baseball teams and never missed the many events and activities of his four grandchildren.
Norm was an avid golfer and made sure a golf course was near all his vacation destinations. His passion for golf led to him scoring two holes- in-one in the same year. He loved spending time with "the gang" Barbara, Jim, Larry, LaVerne, Ray, Bertie, Caroline, Raynell and Bill.
Norm was long time member of Fairfield Baptist Church and was active with his Sunday school group.
A visitation is planned for Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 9 AM-11AM at Fairfield Baptist Church, 27240 US-290 in Cypress, Texas. Immediately after visitation the service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Drive in Houston.
Pallbearers for the service are Cade Bond, Ray Bowley, Aaron Bowley, Bizo Dinelli, Nick Arnold, and John Allbritton. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Bowley, Jim Ethridge, Larry Witte, Ray Morgan, Dick Jones, Larry Jerden, Mel Stanley, and Larry Musney.

We were blessed to have met Wanda and Norm at Fairfield Baptist Church. They were such a beautiful couple, both inside and out. We loved hearing them share stories of their lives together and travels. We will always remember Norm's laughter. We respected how honest and open they were about Norm's health issues and were an example to many. He will be missed, but not forgotten. Prayers to Wanda and the family.
