OLA BOWMAN Obituary

OLA MORGAN BOWMAN died peacefully Sunday morning, July 25, 2010 following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 92. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Delmer Q. Bowman. Ola is survived by 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Surviving children are Linda Walker and her husband Robert Walker of Houston and Ann Andrews and her husband Michael of Washington, DC. Grandchildren are Mark Gillman of Washington, DC, Brock Gillman of Houston, Emily Andrews of Washington, DC and Caroline Macdonald of New York.Ola loved her family and friends most of all, but her talents and interest were broad. She loved golf, painting, cooking, gardening, travel, keeping fit and playing gin rummy. She was very proud of her long service to the Blue Bird Circle. She loved St. Luke's Church. She will be remembered as someone who loved life and lived it to its fullest.A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer at 11:00am, Thursday August 5th.The family wishes to thank Rose Thibodeaux for her 49 years of loyal service, and Cynthia Brown and the staff at the Inwood Manor for their devoted care of Ola.For those desiring, memorials may be directed to the Bluebird Circle, 615 W. Alabama, Houston Texas 77006, to St Luke's Church, 3471 Westheimer, Houston, Texas 77027 or to the Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd, Houston Texas 77030.

Linda and Ann...I'm sorry to read about the loss of your mom. She was always such a doll...as was your dad. She always had a smile on her face! She was truly lovely.
