Panayiotis Onisiforou Obituary

PANAYIOTIS JASON ONISIFOROU passed away on May 3rd, 2009, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was affectionately known by family and friends as "Totis". He was born in Limassol, Cyprus on November 20th, 1940 and earned his Finance Degree from Anotate Emborike in Athens, Greece. Totis immigrated to the USA in 1972 and became a naturalized citizen in 1985. His accounting expertise was widely respected but his true passion was preparing traditional Greek Cypriot dishes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iason and Mari Onisiforou and sister Erene. Survived by wife Judith, Sons George, Michael and daughter Christine; sister Dena Vassiliadou and brothers Michael and Sakis Onisiphorou; grand-children Miranda and Nikolaos Onisiforou and Zoe and Leonardo Ayala; and numerous other loving relatives. Trisagion and funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 5th, 2 pm, at St. Basil The Great Greek Orthodox Church, 1100 Eldrige Parkway, Houston, TX 77077. The interment service will follow at Holy Archangels Greek Orthodox Monastery, End of Twin Sisters Drive, Kendalia, Texas 78027. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to St. Basil The Great Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund or to Holy Archangels Greek Orthodox Monaster, P.O. Box 422, Kendalia, Texas 78027.
