Peggy Gillis Obituary

PEGGY KEEFER GILLIS, age 71, passed away April 15, 2009 after a brave battle with colon cancer. Peggy was born March 26, 1938 to Ina and Ferrell Keefer. She attended W.B. Ray High School (class of 1956) in Corpus Christi, Texas. After High School, Peggy attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, and The University of Texas in Austin. After raising 4 children, she became an entrepreneur. Peggy spent the next 17 years as a Hospice caregiver, while continuing to help others. Peggy is preceded in Death by her father, Ferrell Keefer. She is survived by her mother, Ina Keefer; sons, Jeffrey V. Gillis (Sandy) and Gregory T. Gillis (Linda); daughters Shelley P. DeLuna (Louis), Kimberley G. Minchich (Matt); Grandsons, Nicholas, Joseph and Michael. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., Brookside Funeral Home Cypress Creek, 9149 Hwy 6 North, Houston, TX. Peggy's family would like to thank the staff at Houston Hospice and ask that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe, Houston ,TX 77030.
