I moved around a lot as a kid and Klein HS was just another stomping ground. During 1997 and 98, Mr. Raddin and Ms. Juneau were so kind to let me hide out in one of the piano rooms during breaks/lunch and would often engage in very warm conversations with me (favorite composers, pieces, etc). Nobody likely knew this at the time, but their generosity meant so much to me. I remember when I told him I wasn't a fan of J.S. Bach, the look on his face will never leave my mind! I am now a great admirer of J.S. Bach and often think of Mr. Raddin's face when listening/performing Bach's work with a good chuckle. I bet he would be pleased to learn that I came to my senses eventually.
I wanted to share this with everyone because I think sometimes people believe that the little random acts of kindness and unspoken synergies go unnoticed. Mr. Raddin had a large impact on my life. Thank you, Mr. Raddin! You are ever in my thoughts and prayers.

My fondest memories of high school involve the amazing choir I was privileged to be in under the direction of Mr. Raddin. He was kind, enthusiastic, talented, and I learned so much from him. The things I learned in choir (including life lessons beyond the music) have stayed with me for nearly 20 years. I wish I could sing for him again. I still remember the song "How Do We Say Goodbye" we'd sing at the end of each school year, and I still listen to our Christmas tapes each year. I will always regard Mr. Raddin as my all-time favorite teacher. My prayers go out to his family and friends. May God bless you all and strengthen you. Thank you Mr Raddin for being such a sweet and lasting influence in my life.

Mr. Raddin was my choir teacher at Huntsville High School between 1984 and 1988. He taught me how to appreciate and love music. And he helped me discover my gift of singing. I will never forget him and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing!

I had the great fortune to work with Phil at Klein High as a teacher and administrator. I did not fully realize the impact that he had on his students until I traveled with the choir to competitions and out of state trips where I witnessed the most amazing mentor and man with his students. I was in awe of the music, but most importantly, in awe of the respect, admiration and love that he had for each student. It was reciprocated right back by everyone who walked through that choir door. Phil was strong in his faith, and the students felt that as well. He was a comforting soul to so many, including myself. Phil loved his family and was so proud of Matthew and Bethany. I always looked forward to the Christmas Concert and the end of the year banquet with the choir. They were magical nights! Oh, I will miss my friend dearly, but will hang on tight to all those wonderful memories. And when I hear certain songs that evoke a special time, you might just see a tear in my eye. God bless you, Phil Raddin, and may you rest in peace.
All my love, Lynette Acosta

I loved Phil Raddin and his kindness and talent. He made such a big impression on so many people, young and old, and he will never be forgotten. Phil and I taught a group of wonderful folks at Aon Hewitt and Phil was an inspiration to all of us. He and I became great friends and he confided in me and suffered such horrible pain in the last few years. I wish I could have helped him, but his pain was much too profound. He loved his children more than they will every know, and spoke of them all the time with such love and pride in his heart. Phil Raddin, my life will not be the same without you. Rest in peace among the angels and away from all the the pain.

One of the most influential people of my teen years. A kind, gentle soul, who impacted me more than he will ever know. He provided laughter, comfort, support, and knowledge to everyone he met. A mentor and a friend... may he find the peace and happiness he deserves.

Mr. Raddin is the only high school teacher I can remember 20 years later. He touched my life and the lives of all his students. He taught us to feel the music in our souls, and he taught us so many life lessons along the way, I cannot possibly remember them all. He truly cared about his students and made more of a difference in our lives than he ever knew. I am privileged to have known him.

Phil was full of happiness, creative energy and team spirit at Klein; he built a distinguished choral program for the kids and the community yet never wanted the praise. Phil will be missed as just wish he knew how much we appreciated and loved him.
