Raymond H. Hutner
1919-2017
Raymond H. Hutner, World War II Veteran and longtime Houston resident, died on September 3, 2017 at 98 years old. He was born in Springfield, Ill. to Sarah and Sam Hutner. Raymond was drafted and spent 4 years and 9 months in the army surviving 4 invasions and obtaining the rank of Sergeant Major. He was married for 55 years to the love of his life Dorothy Mark Hutner.
He is survived by his 2 daughters and their husbands, Jan and Louis Karp, Stephanie and Larry Samuels, 6 grandchildren, Joshua and Melanie Karp, Ryan Karp, and Taylor Karp, Stacey and Alex Andrawes, Julie and Robert Jacobson, and Michael Samuels. He was a proud great grandfather to Emma, Grace, Sophia, Amelie, Lila, Wyatt, and Hayes. He will always be remembered as a strong, brave, and generous person who loved to make others happy.
Please send any memorial contributions to the victims of hurricane Harvey. Graveside funeral will be Tuesday, September 5, at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery 1037 Post Oak Road at 1:00.
