Rebecca Anne "Becky" Dulin

June 28, 1967 - September 28, 2008 REBECCA ANNE "Becky" DULIN, 41, of Indianapolis died September 28 in Houston while visiting her family. Born June 28, 1967 in Cincinnati, OH to Jan Di Gann and Kenneth Newsome, she was adopted by Richard and Mary (Hauck) Dulin of South Bend, IN. Becky earned a BA in sociology at St. Mary's College, Notre Dame and law degree from Indiana University School of Law in 1994. Admitted to the Maryland Bar, Becky began her career as an attorney in Washington, D.C. Appointed Executive Assistant to the Director of the Indian Civil Rights Commission in 1997; she authored "Hate Crimes in Indiana: A Resource Manual". To imbue her memory with the inspiring qualities she exhibited in her life, her family has begun a scholarship in her name at Houston's S.H.A.P.E Community Center. Becky is survived by many loving relatives from both her birth and adoptive families including birth mother Jan Di Gann, birth farther Kenneth Newsome and wife Christie, sisters Alexis Breeding and Kimberly Newsome, brothers Blair Jones and Brian Newsome, Grandmother Dorothy Di Gann, aunts Mary Elizabeth Di Gann, Gina Di Girolamo, Patrice Lemaire, and uncles Clarence G. (C.G.) Newsome, Curtis Newsome, and John Di Gann, Jr. In her adoptive family, she survived by Sue and Jonathan Smith, sisters Mary Beth Dulin Goldsmith and Susan Dulin, and brothers Jeff Dulin and Eric Smith. She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Richard and Mary Dulin, sister Jenny Dulin, grand-parents John Di Gann, Clarence and Annie Newsome, Mr. and Mrs. D.O. Dulin, and Mr. and Mrs. J.
