Two things stand out in my memory of Rick in relationship to his brother, my husband, John. The first year John and I were married (1977), Rick was home on leave from the Marines and John and Rick were having a Star Wars fashioned light saber fight in their Mom's back yard at night. Their weapons of choice were roman candles and garbage can lids as shields. (Don't try this at home--very dangerous!) But I will always remember it. The second thing I will always remember is the day of John's Memorial Service and Rick's saluting as my son carried John's ashes out into the water. This was an ultimate sign of respect coming from Rick and I will never lose sight of that moment in my mind. I look forward to seeing Rick again someday with his brother and father.
