To Mother Byrd and Family. You all are in our prayers. My daughter and I learned how to really praise the Lord by becoming members of the Good Samaritan Church under the Leadership of Pastor Rickey Byrd. You could let loose and praise Him without worrying about who's judging you. His sermons brought healing in my life at a time I really needed it. We miss not hearing him on the radio at 11:30 each day but we know he is at peace and there's no more pain. His Homegoing Service was beautiful. I pray that the Lord bless and keep you all in his care. Just remember that after every rainy day, the sun will SHINE!! :o)

Encouragement Eternal Life
Life is eternal, the good Lord said, So do not think of your loved one as dead. For death is only a stepping stone, to a beautiful life we have never known. A place where God promised we would be Eternally happy and safe and free. A wonderful land where we live anew, when our journey on earth is over and through.
"I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh." John 6:51

We bless God for the life, legacy and legend that is Rev. Rickey Byrd. He was a preacher with power, presence, and purpose. He had access to God, he was also accepted by God, and he was accompained by God. So by knowing that we now know that he is well in his soul, wealthy in heaven, and whole in health. Prayer is going out for the family. Stay tight, together, and tame. God Bless!

To the Byrd Family and The Good Samaritan Church Family:
Pastor Byrd wrote his obituary while he was here on this earth. I remember Pastor Byrd as a little girl, when he was driving the Daycare bus, and then when he would play his guitar for the Gospel Spirituals and then he would glide across the floor with that guitar!! And his words from God were so inspiring, I listened to him daily at 11:30 on 1360. I say to you all that he is in no more pain, no more dialysis, and no more medicine. He's healed and he's with God, singing, preaching and playing his guitar. Keep your memories of him close to your heart, and remember the good times. His legacy he left behind, will be a blessing to all who knew and loved him. Be blessed!! I love you all!

Our sincerest sympathy to the Byrd family and the Good Samaritan Church Family on the loss of your loved one and your Pastor. By the entries in Pastor Byrd's guest book he undoubtedly touched many lives; that is a testament to his life here on Earth. I greatly remember the friendship I had with Pastor Byrd. I remember him as a sincere and honest person. He was serious about what he did, and he did it well. Preaching was not problem for, playing that guitar was ease, but he did it with the Anointing of God. I can't forget the revial at House of Prayer with Pastor Lola Stevenson, and the great revivals/crusades at The Commandment B.C. and at Holy Temple Church. I believe that he lived out the words to the song that he sung so often "I will Trust In The Lord...until I die!" To the family continue to Praise God, and Trust in Him. I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
