To all the wonderful family and friends of Rita, my dear cousin. She certainly blessed us all just to know her. I shared growing up with Rita and Joe and often coming to Tomball to visit, so I knew a lot of their friends. Our mothers were sisters. I spent some time with her in M. D. Anderson when she had surgery there. Even then she found humor and made me laugh at some of the things that were happening to her. I could never be so brave. She will always be an inspiration to me. Melvin, Dana, Jacob, Olivia, and Avery were her main concerns in life. She was a wonderful wife and Mom, Mimmaw. We will all be forever grateful to her Aunt, Ann Stutts for her loving care during the last month of Rita's life. Thank you all for sharing with us, and may God Bless you.
Lovingly,
Kaye Webb Bartley

Mickey and Joe,
My condolences on the passing of Rita. Its been 16 years since I saw her at Jackie's funeral but I will always remember her for her smile and good humor. I can still see her twirling those batons and remember well escorting her to one of the Snowball dances at Hook's airport.
The pain and suffering are now releived and she can reunite with the others of the Class of '70 who also departed far too early. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Rita and I shared many fine times over the years, but I have not seen her for a very long time. Tootsie and my mother worked together in the TISD administrative office, and I remember many adventurous times at the Stutts' household, including the night I spent there when my brother had an emergency appendectomy! We were probably 9 at the time. We played flute together starting in middle school and marched together in high school -- once Rita, marching to my left, disappeared briefly from view and then quickly popped back up. I realized that the end piece of her flute had fallen off and she had stooped to pick it up without anyone (but me) noticing! I saw her at our 20-year reunion, and she was as upbeat as always. I was so sorry to hear of her passing.

I met Rita when she was working at Wal Mart and we became fast friends. But then again, she made everyone feel like her friend. I never say her in any other mood than happy. She talked so much about her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed as there are so few people in this world with her kindness.

I haven't seen Rita in several years--since one of the last class reunions. She was then, as she always was-- sweet, considerate and full of joy. I remember when we first came to Tomball, being invited to one of Rita's birthday parties. She made me feel welcome (and we played baseball). She is in a wonderful place with all of her goodness and you are all in our loving thoughts.

You have been and will continue to be in our thoughts. I remember Rita as a sweet tiny thing from high school days. Unfortunately we have not been in contact for many years, but I do hear things now and then. Please know that many people are praying for you all, and may your many memories comfort you.

What a great friend. Rita and I go along way back and we went through alot of good times together as friends. We met when I was in the fourth grade and our friendship has been everlasting. As time has passed I haven't seen her much, but did have the opportunity to talk on the phone. She never changed, always good hearted and liked to have a good time. God Bless you all, Joe & family, Mr. Stutts, Melvin and Dana. May you find peace in knowing she is no longer suffering and is in a better place.

Dear Mickey and Joe Donald,

It has been a long time since I have seen you, but I want you to know that I remember Rita very fondly. I especially remember when you all moved to Tomball in 1960. Rita and I were in the third grade, and she was so cute, all the boys -- myself included -- wanted her to be their girlfriend. Though we were never close, we remained friends all the way up through high school, even went out together once. I remember her as friendly and quiet, kind and unassuming, and it is sobering now to see someone my own age pass from this life. It just makes me realize again that each day of life is a gift to be cherished. Although I cannot join you at the funeral, my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. Please say hello to Ellen and the Hohl family for me.
