Robert Warren "Bob" Clark Sr.

Robert Clark Obituary

ROBERT "Bob" WARREN CLARK, SR. passed away on 08/30/2007. He was born in Weeping Water, Nebraska in 1927. His childhood was spent on a farm in Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl. Beginning at age 17, he served in the Navy Seabees during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. Bob attended Peru State Teacher's College in Nebraska, where he met his future wife Hester, whom he married in 1950. His career began as a Doodlebugger on a geophysical crew, which led to moving nine times during the first three years of their marriage. In 1953, they settled down in Houston, TX where they raised four children: Carol, Cynthia, Catherine, and Robert. His transition to selling geophysical supplies was a natural, based on his outgoing personality. Bob was very active in the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and could often be found at the yearly conventions. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he served in various capacities for over 40 years. Bob never met a stranger and befriended all. He is survived by his wife, Hester, daughters: Carol Williams, Catherine McDaniel and husband Jimmy, Cynthia St. John and husband Donald, son Robert Jr. and wife Susanne, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and another on the way, brother, Jack Clark and wife Phyllis, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. His family and many friends will miss Bob dearly. Viewing will be on Monday September 3rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home on 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018. The funeral will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday September 4th at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care given by the Abbey Assisted Living Center and A-Med Community Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Bob's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 2242 West Holcombe, Houston, TX 77030 or St. James Lutheran Church, 1602 West 43rd, Houston, TX 77018.
