1947-2021
Robert "Bob" Charles Redman, age 74, passed away of natural causes at his home in Cypress, Texas on October 17th, 2021. He was born on September 11th, 1947, in Houston, Texas to William Clark Redman and Marion Stolz Redman.
After graduating from Spring Branch High School in 1966, Bob joined the military. He served in the U. S. Navy on the U.S.S. Bennington CVS-20 during the Vietnam War, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1970 and the National Defence Service Medal. For the rest of his life, Bob remained very proud to have served our country. In his career, Bob served in the Houston Police Department Motorcycle Division for several years, after which he joined the Rice University Police Department, a role he relished until his retirement in 2010.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember Bob's colorful personality and passions: the Longhorns, motorcycles, sportscars, music, and travel to tropical destinations. An avid tennis player, Bob won numerous tournaments and was a member of Westside Tennis Club for over forty years. His humor, mischievous personality and storytelling will be greatly missed.
Predeceased by both of his parents, Bob is survived by his brother Bill Redman (and wife Deborah), his sister Carolyn Redman George (and husband Stephen) as well as his nieces, Jacque Renneberg (and husband Martin and children Jenna and Mason) and Jessica Nicholson (and husband Chris and children Austin, Ashley, and Brianna).
A private military service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9th at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
