Robert Dean White

ROBERT DEAN WHITE (BOB), loving husband, father and grandfather lost his courageous battle to cancer June 13, 2005. He was born in Ironton, Missouri January 17, 1939, but spent most of his life in Texas. Bob graduated from the University of Texas with a Mechanical Engineering degree. This was followed by a productive 34 year career with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in Clear Lake. Following retirement from NASA, he joined United Space Alliance (USA) and continued his space career for an additional eight years. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Wesley White, Mother, Orpha Wooten and sister, Bobby Jean Tempest. He leaves his wife of 42 years, Kay Mock White; daughter, Lara Kay Wilson; son-in-law Albert Brock Wilson; one grandson, Cameron Brock Wilson and a baby due in December. Bob was an accomplished artist. He loved travel, outdoor activities, snow skiing and tennis but his main interest was always his family. Our family wishes to thank the wonderful people at MD Anderson for prolonging his fight with cancer long enough for him to spend his last months at his new hill country home in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. He described this paradise as "God's country". This was just his first stop on his way to heaven. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00, Saturday, June 18, 2005 at JB Earthman Funeral Home, 5740 San Felipe, Houston, Texas 77057.
