Rosemarie Dougherty Rethmeyer

ROSEMARIE DOUGHERTY RETHMEYER, 74, passed away December 10, 2004 at her home in Friendswood, TX. Rosemarie was born on June 29, 1930 to Elsie and Paul Dougherty in Easton, PA. She graduated from Phillipsburg (NJ) High School. Rosemarie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Herman G. (Joe) Rethmeyer and her six children, Stephen P. Rethmeyer and wife Mary Lou, David P. Rethmeyer, Andrew J. Rethmeyer and wife Julie, Joann Carey and husband Craig, Michael P. Rethmeyer and Kate Ogden and husband Keith. Grandchildren include Andrew Jr., Tucker and Zachary Rethmeyer and Elizabeth, Matthew and Hanna Carey, Jennifer Moore, Amanda Hoover, and three great grandchildren. Her brother Paul J. Dougherty and wife Joyce, sister Kathy Kingfield and husband Jack and sister Elizabeth Clemens and husband Doug, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. Rosemarie was an active member of the Women's Golf Association, and was a volunteer for several PGA New Orleans Open Golf Tournaments. She was an avid reader and her hobbies included needlepoint and golf. She also enjoyed the theater and was a talented singer. Rosemarie was a loving and caring wife and mother, and will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Thomas Vellappallil officiating in the chapel at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, TX. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Greater Houston Area, P.O. Box 570127, Houston, TX 77257 in memory of Rosemarie Dougherty Rethmeyer.
