1944-2015
Ruby Dell Ransom Donahoe, 71 of Houston, Texas, passed from labor to reward on Thursday, the 13th of August 2015, in Houston. She was a long time educator and worked many years in the South Park community. She will be remembered by the students and parents of Hartsfield Elementary School where she taught for 38 years. Her love for her students was evident by the many success stories during her career.
She was a 1962 graduate of Kashmere Gardens High School, and attended both Prairie View A. and M. University and Texas Southern University. She attended J.C. Sanderson Elementary and Key Middle School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elliott Lee Ransom, Sr. and Ruby Dell Dinkins Ransom, and also her brother, Elliott Lee Ransom, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 46 years, Gene A. Donahoe and her faithful daughter, Tiffany Michelle Donahoe. She also leaves many other family members, church family, co-workers, neighbors, sorority sisters, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:55 A.M. An Omega Omega Service by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., will be held at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Memorial Service by Beta Pi Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.
The church is located at 6930 Del Rio. Rev. Michael L. Turner will officiate.
All arrangements are under the direction of McCoy and Harrison Funeral Home.

Ooh my God. I just found out today about her passing. I am deeply deeply sorry. She taught my son's and daughter. They loved her to death. They came home today crying in disbelief. My heart is definitely heavy today as years roll down my face. To the family I am sorry for your loss. Just know that she was loved and adored by many. To my children she was they're favorite and there hero. Good bless you all and I am deeply sorry for your loss.
