Dear Daddy,
So much time has past but in many ways its seems like yesterday, I miss you dearly and have so many wonderful memories, I just wish there were more. How wonderful it would be if you were here to hold and love on our grand babies, Pierce, Lorelei, Jackson and Watson, you always held a special place in your heart for the little ones. I know you are watching over us, you would be so proud of Michael and Liz and Taylor and Heather.
I wish you could have hung out with us in Galveston. You always told us, these are the most beautiful beaches in the world, now that Tim and I have our own beach home I understand why you felt that way and loved the Texas coast. I try to remember and apply all the valuable lessons your taught us and pray I may share your wisdom. You taught me the importance of being impartial, standing up for what you believe but not at the risk of hurting others. Say hello to all those who are enjoying your company in Heaven. I love you, Sam

Rudy Leitner was one of a kind. From his sobering tales of the U.S. Navy in WWII,to his career as a corporate lawyer and his engaging personality and love of life, he will be missed and adored by all of us that knew him and were touched by his genuine warmth.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I am so thankful to have met Leitner and I remember Leitner's love for each and every person he met, including me. His magnificent hugs. Precious Leitner family... you know how much I adored him. He was such a treasured friend to Mom and Dad, and a huge part of our family. His humor, wit and call-em-like-I-see-em attitude will be missed so much.
I loved visiting with him on the phone, but not as much as seeing him in person, getting those suffocating bear hugs and hearing him call me "Rascal"!
I truly loved him...

Virginia, I know you will miss your Rudy but, you will never be able to forget his spirit for living life. I remember all the times at the beach when he made me feel more than welcome. I remember the Christmas parties visiting with him and laughing at his stores. I remember his genuine hugs. I remember his birthday party at the Magnolia Ball room and, the continual smile on his face being with all his friends and family. I remember his helping hand. I remember a man that took apart his grill to clean ever inch after grilling. Most of all, I remember his spirit and zest for life. What a life!! He will always hold a place in so many hearts. I don't know of many people who can leave this earth, and have so much space in so many hearts. It takes a special kind of man to have that effect on so many people. Rudy was that man. Mr. Rudy....Rest in peace.

We all share in your great loss. Uncle Rudy will always be remembered by all the family for so many things but, particularly for always being there for whatever family function or event, no matter how large or small. He could always find time for family. We of the succeeding generations of Leitners would honor him most, I believe, by remembering and emulating his devotion to family.

Dear Daddy (alias, my partner in crime):
Thank you so much for always being there, your words of support, great telephone conversations, all the lessons you taught me, the laughter and the stories, your unconditional love to me and my family, for being such a great example and most of all for being my Dad. You know I will miss you dearly but you will always be in my heart and memories and don't worry, you know I will still talk to you everyday and if I can be quiet ( a monumental task) I will hear your answer. We will all be together someday again. Give everybody my love, I know you are safe in Heaven with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, and the precious angels who carried you safely to him. Love always, your loving daughter, Ann or is it Annie Fannie?
