Scott Finkle Obituary

Scott Finkle
10/24/1953 - 11/18/2022
Scott was born in Omaha, NE, on October 24, 1953, to Maynard and Barbara Finkle, and passed away peacefully with his wife and son at his side on November 18, 2022.
As the oldest of 5 boys, he combined his love of music and electronics to build Business Sound & Communications in Houston, TX, and was highly respected in the field of drive-thru communications.
A prankster and storyteller at heart, Scott relished an outlandish escapade and enjoyed sharing his tales. He was quick to smile and never missed an opportunity to help others and share his vast knowledge. Scott traveled the globe and colored his life with the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss for grownups.
Scott leaves behind his wife of 28 years Karen and son Austin whom he was immensely proud of. He is also survived by his mother Barbara, brothers: David, Terry and Todd, their spouses and families.
Scott was preceded in death by his father Maynard and brother Brad.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to friends, family and Scott's Hospice Care Team for their love, laugher and support over these past months.
In lieu of flowers, please share your generosity with the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF.org) in his name.
The family will hold a celebration of Scott's life at a later date.

I can't believe Scott is dead. I was just looking him up to give him a call to catch up.

I dated him in high school, and became good friends. I loved his creativity and sense of humor. I always enjoyed hanging out at his house, and visiting with his wonderful Mom. He was certainly a Prankster, and he was an excellent Writer. I thought I'd find him working for a newspaper or in publishing. He had tons of skills, and was a terrific communicator in several realms. He was good natured, always very thoughtful, and cared deeply about his family.

I'm so sorry to hear he's passed. But, like my own spouse (who died just a few months after Scott), I can only hope that Scott will be reborn to dash around again, spreading warmth, humor and joy.

I am a second cousin of Scott's and have known him since his birth to Barb and Maynard. My mother was Scott's grandfather's sister and our families were very close spending many holidays together in either Omaha or Columbus. These were great fun, but each time normally found the five brothers who were younger than I jumping all over me, wrestling on the floor. I loved staying in touch with him as he grew up and when I worked in Omaha, I spent time with him at the Homy Inn sometimes at lunch or in the evening and of course at all the family gatherings. Scott was a wonderful man, full of love for his friends, family and everything he was involved in. He had a great mind and always knew about the newest electronics and music. I have great memories too of the times we spent at the cabin in Columbus fishing and riding scooters around the lake. He loved to catch the fish. As he moved around I did not get to see him as much, but each time we were together it was awesome and like we were never apart- he brought such great light into my life and those around him. It was wonderful to spend time together at his mothers recent birthday celebration- it was the old Scott. So glad that he met Karen, and they had Austin, he loved them so much. It was so wonderful that even though he was sick, they traveled and got to experience wonderful places and many memories. I loved Scott and will cherish my memories of him for all my days. God's Blessings on all of Scott's wonderful family- Love you all and share your loss. Bob Galley

Scott was our neighbor and friend. We cherish the fond memories we have of spending time with him and Karen at our homes. In the world of people, Scott definitely stood at the top as thoughtful, giving, loyal and trustworthy. This was evident from the first time I met him and was only reinforced as time passed. Every thing Scott did was first class by all measures. I always marveled at what a great host he was, thinking of others, quick to see what others needed. He treated his employees with respect and generosity above the call of duty. Our immediate neighborhood has an empty feeling in the air resulting from Scott and his family moving away years ago, this is a testament to the influence Scott had with his presence in the room. Scott was always smiling and upbeat. I will always recall our conversations over an evening drink, we grew up thousands of miles apart, but our adolescent years and life's stories were the same. Rest in peace my friend, I know you are in a better place in Gods hands, as he would not allow a bright star among people in an evil world go unrewarded.
