Dear Betty, High among my fond memories of working at Christ Church Cathdral is the memory of working with Stuart when he was Senior Warden. His guidance was invaluable. He was the genuine article - a fine man and a gentleman.

Rich,
I was so sorry to here about your dad and am sorry to have missed the service. Every time I saw your dad he always had something kind to say and seemed like someone you could count on, much like yourself. As time goes on hopefully the sadness will deminish as you remember with fondness all the wonderful times you and your father shared. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

Dear Betty
Having lost my father and my dearest friend some 15 years ago, I know the loss you and your family will feel for many years to come. Lucky you were, however, to have had a true gentleman in your life for all of those 55 years! Gentleman are a cherished contributing sector to our society and I think, next to my Dad, Leonard Mason, Stu was at the top of the list. I "ran into Stu" a number of times during the darkest days of my life, when it was not "politically correct" to be kind to me during my divorce, he was always so kind and understanding. He even told a friend of mine at a Christmas party during those first few years, to tell me to "stay beautiful" and a few other very kind remarks! When Virgina passed the message along, it made my holiday! You are in my prayers, as is your family.
Because of support such as Stu's, I gained the strength to start two businesses, over come a multitude of lifelong scars received during those dark years. And I have touched many lives because of human beings like Stu, that always had a kind word, a handshake of support, a moment to speak when the his schedule was SO busy! A tip to find a new client.
I work extensively with the securities industry, I once in passing said Stu's name and (I say this is a smile)"I thought my client was gonna faint" ... ALL HE SAID TO ME WAS ... "HOW DO YOU KNOW STUART HELLMAN?" ... I so new to the industry at the time, I had no idea what a GIANT he was in the industry.. because his such a gentleman in presentation! I aspire everyday to be more like him.
Thank you also Betty for all of your kindness through the years.

Richard -
I am so sorry about the passing of your dad. I admired him so much and will really miss him. Having lost my own father over 17 years ago, I certainly understand what you and your family are going through. I know that Stu was very proud of you and you should be proud to be his living legacy. Your dad was one of the most decent men I have ever met and you were incredibly lucky to have him as a father. Please know that Pam and I are praying for your family. Take care and God bless you.
