Sharon Dixon Obituary

Sharon Lee "Sherry" Dixon
03/06/1947 - 11/30/2025
Sharon Lee Dixon, "Sherry," born on March 6, 1947, in Quincy, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home in Miamisburg, Ohio, on November 30, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. A vibrant and eclectic individual, Sherry dedicated her life to embodying unconditional love, warmth, and generosity. After graduating from the University of Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Sherry maintained a strong connection to her alma mater, becoming a lifelong donor. She spent most of her life in Houston before moving to Dayton, where she continued to engage with her community and nurture her interests. Sherry's professional journey included a rewarding tenure beginning in 1970 with Lyman Personnel Services, an employment agency owned by her best friend, Gray Lyman. Here, Sherry held a marketing/management and financial position. In 1988, it changed to SkilMatch Staffing Systems. Even after her retirement from SkilMatch in 2018, her commitment to the organization remained, as she graciously assisted with payroll tasks, showcasing her dedication and devotion. Known for her optimistic outlook on life, Sherry embraced every moment with enthusiasm. She found joy in a variety of hobbies, including cooking, crafting, painting, and gardening. Each week, she indulged her creative side by participating in needlepoint at the Washington Twp. Rec Center, where she was also an active member of a monthly book club. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Sherry cherished playing bridge and was a fervent supporter of the University of Texas Longhorns. Her love for animals was evident in her deep affection for her beloved cat who she leaves behind, Timmy. Sherry's proudest accomplishments were reflected in her family, particularly in her role as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two children, Todd (Julie) Worley and Alise (Mark) Damschroder, along with her cherished granddaughters, Emma and Ella. She also leaves behind her brother, Mike (Dianne) Dixon, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and spirit. Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Mary Dixon. Sherry will be remembered not only for her vibrant personality but also for the indelible mark she left on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She embodied the essence of love and compassion, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire others to live with warmth and kindness. HOOK 'EM!!!
