Steve Treadway Obituary

Stephen "Steve" L. Treadway
1953-2016
Stephen Lee Treadway went home to the Lord
on November 2, 2016 surrounded by his loving partner, Lynda Burnside and his sons Bryan, Andy, and Eric. He was born in Houston, Texas on January 15, 1953.
Steve is survived by his loving parents, W.C. Treadway Jr. and Jeanne "Ginger" Treadway.
Steve was the first born of six children for W.C. and Ginger and grew up in the Sharpstown/Houston area, graduating from Sharpstown High School in 1971. He is survived by his long time girlfriend Lynda Burnside with whom he spent 24 years together. His loving legacy includes three sons: Bryan Treadway and his wife Melissa and their two children Brody and Addison; Andrew Treadway and his four children Joshua, Lois, Tony and Luke; and his third son Eric Treadway. Steve was a proud grandfather, affectionately known as 'Chief' to six adorable grandchildren.
He is survived by his five brothers and sisters: Mark Treadway and wife Teri Treadway, Stephanie Brown and husband Kenny Brown, Shelley Waters and husband Randy Waters, Dana Bruton and husband Jeff Bruton, and Robert Treadway. Steve has 18 precious nieces and nephews whom he also loved dearly. He was predeceased by his loving grandmother, LaVeda Robb.
In his younger years Steve and his brothers and sisters grew up riding their bicycles along Braes Bayou, running around Larkwood Subdivision, attending Bellaire United Methodist Church and playing Fun Football in the Sharpstown area. Steve's career included owning a construction and remodeling company, and later spending years as a land man in the oil and gas industry. He loved his dogs, loved hunting and fishing; and especially enjoyed riding his custom Harley with his long time friends all over the country.
He will be missed dearly, and the family is incredibly grateful to have had 63 years with 'Chief'. May he rest in peace.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 6pm at Bellaire United Methodist Church in Bellaire, Texas, to celebrate his life with his family and friends. The family ask that donations in his memory be sent to Councilonrecovery.org in lieu of flowers.

I met Steve through mutual friend Bill Wilson. I am just now hearing of his passing. The picture on this obit does not even look like the Steve I remember. His words for uplifting and his wisdom even greater. RIP Steve Treadway.

Our family knew Steve from his days at Richmond Elementary. He was friends with my brother, Clay, who passed away from Hodgkins when he was 12. Steve and Clay and other neighborhood boys had sleepovers when they were kids. For Clay, getting to spend time with his friends while he was still healthy enough to have fun was so special for both him and our parents. I'm glad that Steve was part of those memories. He was a good boy. RIP, Steve.
