I cannot express how sad I was when I heard Steve had pasted away. I only wish I had been reading the paper so that I could have expressed my condolences in person.

I, like so many of his other Acacia brothers, had lost contact with Steve over the years. It is hard to believe it has been almost 30 years since those wonderful college years. Although our lives took us in different directions, I was fortunate enough to have contacted Steve a few years ago on the Internet and got a dose of Steve’s great spirit. We shared joys of fatherhood and how proud he was of Jennifer. I was saddened to learn of his mother, Marie’s, passing and regretted not attending the funeral.

Jennifer, Guy, Julie, Joy, and the many others that will miss and mourn his passing, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I, like so many others, know that my life is better for having known him and he will not be forgotten.

I had just gotten back from vacation when Chan called me with the news the Saturday afternoon after Stevie was buried. How saddened I was not only at his passing, but missing the chance to say good bye. Stevie was a great friend who always made me happy. I have such wonderful memories of the times spent at LSU. I always wished we could have stayed in better contact, but the years and the mile made that hard. Although he is gone, I still will always have a warm wonderful memory of my friend. So long Stevie.......

I was on vacation when the sad news arrived on Steve's passing. He was a great friend whom I had known for 18+ years. He was a great story teller, but would usually spend most of his time talking about his lovely daughter, her soccer games, her school, getting her driver license, dating etc.

I miss our daily chats but have fond memories that keep him alive.

Steve and I were frat-house roommates in Acacia Fraternity.

I knew that his life had taken a

very different turn since our days at LSU. I am sorry that we did not keep in touch, as is the case with too many old friends. But his playful outlook on life, his engaging smile, and his friendship will be sorely missed. It is my prayer that his soul is at rest now, and that He is at peace with Our Lord.

I am saddened by the death of such a sweet person. I worked at Bank United with Steve and what an awesome person he was. He always had a kind word and I will never forget his beautiful smile. May you fly with the angels now. When I see a bright, bright star in the sky, I will think of you. God bless you. You will never be forgotten.

Even though we had lost direct touch over the years I continued to hear about you from friends and Acacians. I see by the comments of your coworkers and family that the things that formed our friendship many years ago at LSU were still a part of your life. I'm sorry to hear of your death and my sympathy to your family.

How very sad that this dear man is gone. I worked with Steve at United Savings/Bank United for many years. I will remember him as a wonderful story-teller with a great sense of humor and a delightful cynicism. He was sincerely perceptive, bitingly sarcastic, and incredibly brilliant - a rare combination, and a truly gentle man. Go in peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with Steve's family, especially with Jennifer (JC). I have had the pleasure of knowing Steve for many, many years: standing on the sidelines cheering for our daughters on the soccer field. Even at a time when they played on opposite teams, Steve, though relishing competition, kept the spirit of friendship as the most important. He was the person I always sought out to talk to, to sit by, and after an out-of-town tournament, eat with in order to analyze the game and have a good laugh. (OK - he always knew where the best food was, too).

Steve's devotion for his daughter was pure delight to witness. Every father should have taken notes to see if they could even attempt to achieve just a bit of his unconditional love and support.

Those who knew Steve got to experience his intelligence, great sense of humor and his wonderful hugs. I have missed seeing him since our girls grew up. And now, I miss him even more. The great memories of Steve remain in my head and heart.
