I grew up with Sue and the family across the street from us. She stood out in my life as a fun, fashionable, sexy woman with a joyful spirit, love in her heart, and a huge and delightfully offbeat sense of FLAIR. My own mom, as her close friend, took on lots of her mannerisms and expressions, because Sue was just so cool! My sister and I had a lot of fun with the Callner girls, and Sue was often like a second mom to us. I loved when she'd take us all to Wilmette Beach. That was really a treat! Yesterday, my sister told me Sue had passed, and I was saddened to find this obituary. But I'm happy she lived such a long life and was blessed with so many grandchildren and great grandchildren! Sue is unforgettable and was a major positive figure in my life. Her late husband Norman was also a distant relative of my dad's family by marriage.
